Patrick82
__________________ Min 100% feedback: eBay Audiogon Head-Fi Edited September 24, 2010 by Patrick82

Ekman
Nej, just det Edited August 10, 2006 by Patrick82
Ekman
There are people who upgrade boxes thinking the radio towers magically stop broadcasting, and then there are others who do something about it... Same with power, the neighbors have noisy gear plugged into the AC line and it infects your system. A new box isn't going to unplug the neighbors gear, it's just going to give a different flavor in the sound. High-end gear behave differently when fed with dirty AC, vibration and RFI/EMI. That's why they all sound different. It's hard to stop the source of the ground bourne vibrations since everything is vibrating inside the planet, otherwise everything would be dead, when trees are growing it gives off subtle vibrations you know... So the simple solution is to isolate the gear from vibrations. You could also move your audio system to space, but the fuel is too expensive. You can't do anything about the radio towers either, if you blow them up you go to prison... So you could build a Faraday cage or something. But there is also another problem, the audio components themselves generate radio frequencies which infects the gear and makes it sound open and dull. With power you can sneak into the neighbors at night and unplug their refrigerator, but there is problem with police. So it's easiest just to plug in a few hundred Noise Harvesters into the wall, that should do it. Just thread a conductor through the holes and hang in the ceiling. Du skriver att: "A new box .. just going to give a different flavor". It's hard to stop the source of the ground bourne vibrations since everything is vibrating inside the planet, otherwise everything would be dead, when trees are growing it gives off subtle vibrations you know... So the simple solution is to isolate the gear from vibrations.

With battery you can't color the sound the way you want it to sound. I can control it by power supply manipulation. Valhalla power cables don't make the power supply function properly, but I like the exaggerated detail and speed. Du skriver att: "A new box .. just going to give a different flavor". With my old K501 headphones I used Corda HA-1 Mk1 and Graham Slee Solo, the Solo had an external power supply which was the reason for the extra bass. With my K1000 headphones I tried T-Amp which is a $39 amp and the Krell KAV-500i for $5000. All I could hear was a different flavor, the T-Amp sacrificed the bass and the Krell gave too much bass and sacrificed the midrange. But after I put Solid-tech Feet of Silence under the Krell the midrange was back. When I did some MWave4 power supply manipulation I got the speed of T-Amp. Bass got so crazy it took months for my brain to adjust to it. My new amp (PS Audio GCC-100) wasn't impressive, it's just both of the T-Amp and Krell combined. When I used the same tweaks for it, it sounded like the Krell with a shorter signal path. Boxes aren't anything special, any high-end one will do. Tweaks are the ones that give the real improvements instead of a change in the flavor. With my Benchmark DAC1 I heard a difference when I went from 4 steps to 5 steps of isolation. This is a $975 DAC and it's the last one I will ever buy! I tried a high-end source with blurry brown DACs and it sounded worse. The improvements from my tweaks just keep getting bigger and bigger. I have forgotten how to write properly in Swedish. I can still read it though.
Patrick82
The Krell has been in a box for over a year now. Audiophiles need to hear Krell with MWave4, I want to know what you think. I will pay 1000 SEK if the buyer writes a review. To use the Krell with big speakers you probably need a P1000 Power Plant, but if you use AKG K1000 earspeakers a P300 is good enough. I have a 2nd pair of AKG K1000 earspeakers for sale. I also have an extra P300 Power Plant (MWave4). I have a modified 50cm Nordost Valhalla power cord hardwired inside the P300, it comes out 20cm from a hole in the back and it's long enough to be plugged into the wall. I tried a longer Valhalla but it gave less dynamics, I'm using 1 conductor per signal instead of the normal 3, this gave more low-level detail and speed. The Valhalla is wrapped in 2-3 layers of ERS Paper which gave heavier bass and even more low-level detail. I can give discount if you buy these: Krell KAV-500i AKG K1000 earspeakers P300 Power Plant (MultiWaveII and MultiWave II+), hybrid export version (110v + 230v) Nordost Valhalla power cord 1.5m Statement power cable (for the Krell) Solid-tech Feet of Silence Solid-tech Rack of Silence, Reference 3 I will pay you 5000 SEK if you make a review of this combo. Give offers for this combo. Also write if you are interested in making the review, after you have made the review, I will pay you 5000 SEK. Or you could choose just to get a 5000 SEK discount right away. I think that's better. poollogics@hotmail.com I also have a 1m Nordost Vishnu power cord. Using Statement with amp and Vishnu with source gives optimal synergy. Edited June 26, 2007 by Patrick82

Patrick82
